Transportation is used in daily life, whether it is to get to work or hang out with friends. Public transportation is mainly used in cities to travel around paying a small fee along side the use of cars.
Most Americans use a vehicle, whether a truck, van, car, etc. Following behind some do work from home But in terms of getting around next would be public transportation like bus, train, metra, etc.
Transportation harms the environment both locally, globally, and regional with many different factors. In cities, transportation is loud and release gases like carbon monoxide. For globally, that carbon monoxide affects greenhouse gases which then cause climate change. Regionally, it can cause smog and acid rain, an example of this is in Los Angeles.
While it does affect the environment, it also does affect human health. For example, inhaling toxic particles that are created from transportation can cause many health issues like cancer, heart and breathing issues, etc. Following that noise made from transportation can harm a person’s hearing and possibly their mental mind. Not only that but to make this transportation we are extracting materials from the earth. An example is a deforestation when boats were made out of wood.
The 2014 Chevy Equinox is usually filled up about every week and cost about $60, the car is used five times a week to my mother’s and brother’s work which is 50 miles to and back. Then it takes about 6.2 miles to be dropped at school before heading back home. The 2017 Chevy Tahoe is usually filled up depending on how much it's used, if not very much about once every couple of weeks but it also depends on how far we go. When filling that one up it costs about $90. Sometimes places close by we take the car instead of possibly walking.
Taking the train home is about 3.1 miles, I usually walk to the train station and from the train station to home.
Places that are closer could be walked instead of transportation.
The next one that is bought try to get it electric.
