The making of electricity is from power plants that use different types of energy sources like coal, natural gas, and nuclear energy, but also use renewable resources such as water, wind, or solar energy. When fuel is burned it releases greenhouse gas (CO2) and other gases. When using water for electricity, it relies on how much water and how moves. Another way is using heated water to make electricity, thermal energy, but when heated water goes back into normal temperature water it causes thermal pollution.
In the whole world, Asia is the one that uses the most electricity in 2021. With North America and Europe following behind.
The U.S.A use 3.93 trillion kWh in 2021. Texas used the most electricity in 2020 with California using about half of what Texas uses. Both Texas and California are the USA's most populated states tho. Vermont was the State that used the least electricity.
My family usually uses less than the average American but when it gets hot we use more energy to keep the house cool/cold.
When it's cool outside, turn off the air conditioner and open the windows.
When things aren’t being used either unplug them or turned them off. Ex. lights, applications, electronics, etc.
